I only found your blog recently, because someone shared one of your posts about inspiration porn in a comment on a university Facebook page, in response to a picture posted there. I really love your insights. I’m sorry you’re feeling all of this nastiness dredged up. It seems ironic how people of faith can behave so badly. Their membership in a religious community should have made them feel held to a higher standard. Thank you for sharing these very personal thoughts, and I wish you well.

Yes, they ought to be ashamed.

PTSD pain comin’ up in spades over here too. In the body, in the mind, rage that I never even learned skills for how to deal with. (Fuck Boston Strong and One Fund and months of no help for trauma despite trying.)

It’s sad when something so beautiful – like the love between you and Bob – is not celebrated but vilified like this. I am so sorry to hear of this, knowing especially what a beautiful spirit you have and how much you dedicate yourself to creating environments that are supportive of others. You deserve to have support yourself.

This to me is a lot like all those people who are so self-righteous about putting down people in gay relationships – often in especially beautiful relationships that deserve to be CELEBRATED and not vilified. It’s a very violent self-righteousness that tramples on the spirits, dignity and joy of other people.

I have to say that when you talk about your relationship with Bob, the beauty and joy is so clear. What special people you both are. I have this urge or desire to hold you in a very long hug.
